I won lot #9!!!!

Okay, Saturday did not start out very good. There was a horrible storm that came thru where we were at in Linden Texas Friday night. We get up early to get to our friend Donnies parents house in Mt. pleasant about 45 minutes away because they have RFDTV. We get there and nothing is working. The storm has knocked out the satellite. I am freaking at this point. Im already an emotional ball of crazyness, haha. Okay, satellite company says its a no go, they cant figure out whats wrong. We are all just looking at each other like, what the heck do we do now. I call my sponsor, Terry, and tell him he might just have to watch and tell me over the phone whats going on. Then I thought the public library should have internet access. So we all jump in the car with an hour to spare and find the nearest library. Whew, okay, I got it pulled up, but no sound. LOL. What a day!
The bidding starts and I have Terry on one phone to one ear, I have the auction on another phone to the other ear. The auction lady kept asking me to speak up, and I am trying to tell her I am in a library. She was great cause she just really listened for me when I was saying yes, since I was whispering it. It was CRAZY. On top of all this, I have a camera following my every move and one of the other girls on the team commentating on what was going on. LOL. Thanks to the Mt. Pleasant library for not kicking us out, we appreciate it.
Luckily I got my first pick. Lot #9. A big beautiful bay with two back socks. I love him already and I have only seen him in a video. I will say I am feeling a little overwhelmed. I knew this competition was going to be a big one but I am starting to hear all these big name trainers that got horses and I am feeling like I got in way over my head. LOL. I keep telling myself, the experience. Its all about the experience. Just to be in the arena and get to soak in their awesomeness is going to be worth it.
Well that is what is happening so far in a nut shell, I will update more as it comes about! Have a great day!

two days till the bidding

Okay, I am a ball of emotion! As the day draws nearer for the bidding I am getting really tense. I caught all the horses earlier to get ready to leave for the rodeo. I put Tee Jay in a stall and fed him. He would not eat, he just sat at his stall door and watched with his ears perked up. After about 10 minutes of watching him watch me I walked over to make sure he was okay. He just leaned over the stall and nudged me. I guess he can tell that I am really tense right now too. Usually when I am tense he is tense, but today he seemed so relaxed about it. I couldnt help but laugh. All the other horses were just being butts. LOL They love to antagonize me when I am upset. Run around and tease me when I need to catch them. They think its so funny! Those jokers.
SPLASH, he has been on a roll that last couple of days. He opened up the gate to the big field and let himself in with the brood mares. Luckily I walked out right when this crime of opening the gate was being committed and told him he better get his painted little hiney right back in his paddock or those mares were going to eat him alive. He pretended to ignore me a few more minutes even though he was looking right at me the whole time. He just ate a few more blades of grass and I put my hand on my hip as if to say I am going to give you one for chance to come back or the mares can have you for breakfast. He looked up and walked as slowly as he possibly could back into his paddock. I quickly locked and rigged the gate hoping maybe he wouldnt get it open again. Only to come out this morning and find he had let Magi out of her stall. He is such a houdini.
Dollar followed me around like a puppy this morning too. I have him grazing in my front yard at the moment with our yearling Trooper. Trooper was our orphan from last year and he has not really been socialized with other horses. He was so little and we were so worried that the other horses would hurt him. Now he has gone thru a huge growth spurt and needs some horsey manners. So he got turned out with Dollar the mustang cause I knew he would teach him some. He has been a very patient and kind teacher. I cant turn him out with my other guys cause he beats up on them. But trooper hasnt had a mark on him. Ive seen Dollar get after him but he does it in such a good way. Trooper is understanding (kind of) that he is a horse now. LOL Trooper on the other hand has been a pain all morning. He is not taking my frustrations very well. He doesnt want to have anything to do with me today. He is confused. that is okay though. He is only 10 months old. Dollar splash and tee jay know how to handle me when I am on edge. Especially Dollar and tee jay. Such good boys. Well, I am going to go finish getting the trailer put together for this weekend. Keeps my mind off of everything. WHEW!!!

Forgot, The orphan foal I adopted!

I got a call from a ranch here in Weatherford the other day that they had an orphan foal in need of a home. So of course I went and picked the little guy up. We are on a week right now and he is doing really good. He rides in the truck with us to go places, comes in the house for his feedings and loves to play. The picture with two horses in it is Chance and Trooper, my orphan foal last year. I named Chance that because I gave him a second chance on life. Trooper got his name because he was a trooper for loosing his mother at 28 days and having to go all over texas with me to the rodeos. I thought it was fitting too that we ride for the troops. Chance is 4 days old in this picture and trooper is 10 months old.

Acceptance letter came in the mail

My acceptance letter came in the mail yesterday for The Extreme Supreme Mustang Makeover. I am so excited. I got approved for 4 LOL, but I will be lucky if I can even afford one. It said 130 people were accepted and there are 100 mustangs. I am really going to be picky. Ive looked and looked and looked at these horses in the videos. I am not going to settle on one. If I am going to do it I want to do it right and get the horse that I want. I almost would much rather not have a choice. HAHA! Ive got my bid number and the the phone number to the bid line ready to go. Along with a note book on notes that I have taken on the videos. I will be bidding from Mt. Pleasant texas. We have a rodeo that weekend and that is the closest place we know of that has RFDTV. Whew, as time grows closer I get sooooo nervous.
I was talking to my vet about it the other day and he said they knew of someone that has done mustang makeovers before and was wanting to get 4 to train. I am like holy cow, GREAT, he is a big name in the makeovers and it makes me concerned I will not get a horse at all. I dont expect to win this thing, I have never shown in my life. But I would really like to place top 20. But again, I have never shown, and never had a time limit on playing with a mustang. I got soooo lucky on Dollar, my mustang now that I am worried this one is going to be a doozie. LOL I mean trick riding on him in a show 4 months after getting him. He has such a great attitude. I am just hoping my next one has such a great attitude and willing nature about him. Alright I will quit rambling. TTYL
Hope everyone has a great day and God bless
